To the south of Tingri beyond the monsoon flooding is Cho Oyo (8201m). To Cho Oyu’s right is the Nangpa La pass (5800m) and then Jobo Rabzang. The Nangpa La pass leads from Tibet to the Solo Khumbu region of Nepal by way of Thame and Namche Bazaar. The pass is normally open only from May to August. Jobo Rabzang (6666m) has impressive rock and ice towers just northwest of Nangpa La near the border of Nepal and Tibet.
